I have my Bachelors degree in Political Science from The University of
California at Santa Barbara, a Paralegal Certificate from the University
of Santa Clara Institute for Paralegal Education and my Juris Doctorate
from Santa Clara University. I was admitted to practice law in California
on December 3, 1984.
My entire career
as an attorney has been in the area of Family Law. I have been a sole
practitioner since 1995.
I have been trained
in mediation since 1989 and in Collaboration since 1995. I
have limited my practice to only Mediation and Collaboration since early
1999 and have taken no cases involving litigation since then.
I teach Collaborative Practice and techniques to other attorneys as one of
the trainers licensed through the Collaborative Practice Silicon Valley (the professional organization for local Collaborative practitioners) and I have
served as President of that organization in 1997,1998 and in 2001. I am serving
as Vice President in 2008. I have conducted trainings of Collaborative
lawyers out of California. I served as a member of the Board of Directors
of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (a founding member)for six years and I am a
team attorney with Collaborative Alternatives in Cupertino.
My focus now is on practicing and promoting Collaboration and Mediation
as alternatives to litigation in divorce proceedings. I absolutely do
not support going to court as a means of going through what is already
a difficult and painful experience for you and your family. My focus is
to help you understand the legal system and the law as it relates to Dissolution
of Marriage, to provide support, counsel and advice to you and let you
make your own decisions. I am here to guide you through the process and
let YOU make the important decisions that will affect the rest of your
life as well as your childrens.
